yeah... wth happened?
there's a piece of the forum code that wasn't written so well so it generates errors every couple seconds . these are error messages that don't interfere with the normal operation of the site . all the error messages are stored in the database for record keeping purposes . basically , the file that stores the database table for these error messages overflowed and caused itself to become locked . because of this , pages would no longer load any time that they tried to write an error message . in this case , it was the link tree (the little thing above that says "RavePlay Forums > Website Discussion > Announcements > Post reply Re: crisis averted ") . it got stuck which is why none of the pages with a link tree would work , but enigmatically , the profile , chat , and administration pages still did .
it took me forever to track down . i was starting to lose hope .
