Alright all of you Hard Hitters out there... Let's try to out-do last month by Hitting even Harder this month! And this is definitely the month to do it!
We have a couple of firsts for us this month. This will be the first time that Hard Hits has ever had a theme; one that we have not seen done around here any time recently. The carnival theme is going to mean all sorts of cool things like: caramel apples, snow cones, funnel cake, and more! We hope that all of you will take part by dressing up as different carnival acts and carnies!
Another first is that this will be the first time we have flown a guest overseas to play at Hard Hits. This month's special guest was born into hardcore as the son of The Doctor. Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, signed to Nortious Vinyl, with work forthcoming on Hardcore Underground and Next Generation Records; we are proud to present Darren Hotchkiss! Darren is beginning to quickly build momentum with several available releases and many forthcoming releases including a collaboration with his father and another with the legendary Marc Smith. His first foray onto this side of the pond was Candyball 7: Hardcore University, where he threw down an absolutely banging set. He has weekly show every Tuesday from 2-3PM EST on KraftyRadio.com, where you can catch the latest from him. We have had our ears on him for a while and are happy to be able to present him to you!
And the next first is that this will be the first time that we will have Pinky & the Brain at Hard Hits! Consisting of Dupont and Soundstream, this cousinly duo are local hardcore legends in the northeast. These Floor Burnerz have been smashing up dance floors for the past decade from the Muni to the Compound to Therapy to the ADC to Dance 'til Dawn to Tight Crew's massive Mario Party to Candyball to, most recently, 761 Productions' This is How We Do It and everywhere in between. All of you should know that they are going to throw down a super banging set. And if you have never seen them before, this is an extremely awesome and affordable night to do so!
Yet another first is that we will be breaking from the standard Hard Hits format and giving Hotchkiss and Pinky & the Brain hour and a half slots!
DJ Tre and DJ Blu are on deck this month to provide the resident Hard Hitting support.
And last but not least, this month is the celebration of Rhi's (of Freshmixes) 21st birthday. She has played an integral role in helping to spread the word about Hard Hits and even being the model for our first shirts
