This party gets a 10 in my book. I had so much fun I need a minute to collect my thoughts before I go straight into all of my fun filled stories….lol
If anyone has been to Fusion you will agree with me that the venue is pimp. The place is kinda laid out like a labyrith with lots of hallways that connect. I lost my way a couple of times. Lol and ppl wonder why I need an enclosed area when I attend parties…
When you walk in the first room the floor, walls, and ceiling are made up of huge stones. There are a couple of comfy couches and a bar that is decked out. Its really nice. I liked the bar chairs a lot. They had 1 DJ stage set up to your left. The sound quality was ok in there but I mostly hung out at the main stage. OMG! They had the main room hooked up! I was very impressed. They had 5 or 6 lasers going, a projection that threw out all kinds of shapes and designs, and the stage lighting was dope. It was filled with all kinds of colors from green to blue to red and purple.
The place all together was pretty clean. I didn’t really like the fact that the little girls room was also the little boys room. After the party started I dared not use the bathroom, and the smoking area was horrible. It was in a little alley between Fusion and another building. They blocked off the end of the alley that lead to the sidewalk in front of Fusion with a huge old school gate.
The camel fairies stopped by while I was chilling in the alley and I got 2 packs of free smokes. Oh, and sorry camel fairy for wigging on you….I could of swore with your little computer that the government was after me and the feds implanted a chip in my body somewhere that you were trying to scan.
After the camel fairy incident things in the alley got weirder. I then came up with the idea to go out and smoke in front of Fusion. I never went back into the alley after that light bulb turned on.
Clay and I got to take Todd and Scott (Jackal and Hyde) to their hotel room before their set. My party favors were building at the time and I was totally lost in their quest to find beer. I think we stopped at two different gas stations before they finally broke down and bought a 30 can case. Lol. Shit was funny. Oh, and Todd loved my car. During the ride he kept telling me how fly and clean it was…. Thanks Todd.
Monk’s set was my fav out of the headliners. Absolutely loved, loved, loved the Killers remix of Mr. Brightside that he spun. It seriously touched my soul. I liked Jackal and Hyde’s set too, but like they explained to me in the car there was no bass so they didn’t sound good. DJ Emce, thank you sooooo much for throwing down that Strawberry Fields track. It truly made my night. Mad props to DJ Claycon. He rocked the crowd. There were 4 or 5 ppl on the dance floor but as soon as others heard that nasty dub kick in they followed the music. By the middle of his set the floor was packed. Nice job.
The crowd at Fusion was a good mixture of regular joes, kandi kids, old skool peeps, and well everything else you could think of. I felt like all around it was an awaking party for Louisville. The scene there has been so underground that ppl really came out to support and have a great time. I remember at the beginning of the party I was outside of Fusion and met a couple that couldn’t decide if they wanted to come in or not. If they did it would be their first party. I told them that it was totally worth their money and they should. Later that night I saw them inside and they gave me a huge hug. The two thanked me for convincing them to come in and they were having the time of their lives. I felt all warm and fuzzy inside to know that I have shined the guiding light for two more ppl.
The party and the after party was so much fun! Ooooo the after party was at the Warehouse, and it literally is an old grimy dirty warehouse. Lol. I remember wiping black grime off my face and arms cause the place was filled with nasty stuff in the air. I can’t even begin the describe it, but I love that place. Lol. Hands down to Obitykenobi and Elekrolyte for the good beats at the after party. I danced to both of their sets for a good 3 hrs.
All together the whole night was great. I couldn’t of asked for a better time. I felt like I was 6 yrs old again playing with my friends on the playground. Tis was a good…..
